The governor of Kaduna state, Malam Nasir El-Rufai,  on Tuesday received the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye. Accompanied by top government officials, the governor held a meeting with the servant of God, during which he expressed his deep appreciation for the visit.

The visit by Adeboye was against the backdrop of the  8 members of the church who were kidnapped in the state last month.

In the course of the visit, the servant of God spoke about the difficulties facing the government of Kaduna State over the spate of insecurity both in the state and in the nation in general. The 79 year old General Overseer further acknowledged that although the governor of Kaduna State has been doing all it can to curb the spate of violence and kidnapping in the state, there is a need for divine intervention, as according to him, all that is happening is beyond what human beings alone can deal with.

Nonetheless, he expressed the confidence that the government and residents of the state would soon overcome the problem.

According to the highly respected clergy, “We have been following the happenings in Kaduna State, particularly in recent months.  We have been deeply concerned for the inhabitants of the state, concerned for the state government. We have a problem that only God can solve. But we assure you that victory is around the corner.”

In the course of the visit, Governor El-rufai appreciated the servant of God both for his visit and his concerns about the difficult challenge confronting the government and people of the state. He noted that the country needed divine intervention and he expressed the hope that the servant of God would continue to pray for the state.

According to the governor, “This country needs divine intervention more than ever before. So we appreciate your concerns.”
