Latest scoop has it that major cities in Kaduna State are awash with talk regarding what has been described by observers as a new designer wardrobe that is suspected to have been acquired by the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai. This has become the case more so the former minister of the FCT was once known for his simplicity in his style of dressing. As of late, however, the wealthy private businessman-turned-governor had been seen at public events in highly embroidered and rich fabrics which expensive cost ENM was still combing Kaduna metropolis to find out as at the time this report went to press.
One thing that is certain however is that the state governor has changed his wardrobe and this became obvious after his return from his latest trip abroad. The first indication of a new designer wardrobe that the governor appeared to have acquired was seen in the clothe that the governor wore to the first state executive council he chaired after his return from his latest trip abroad. The clothe in particular was brownish, posted on his facebook page, and it could be seen that it was expansively and richly embroidered. One of the latest of such clothes was another expansive babariga, which he wore in the council chamber and also sighted on his facebook page. This one is white and observers are unequivocal in their agreement that they have never seen any of the governor’s babariga so lavishly and expansively embroidered.
These observations have been making many wonder why the governor has suddenly changed his wardrobe. It is however suspected by some that the governor might have bowed to pressure from some well-meaning supporters of his that he needed to appear more traditional and dress more in rich fabrics and well-embroiled clothes as most state executive governors are known to do. Wild rumours equally have it that Gov. El-Rufai might have been prevailed upon to dress more in line with how Nigerian civilian presidents are known to dress, more so as he is highly rated as a front runner and a formidable force in the upcoming 2023 presidential race.
